Ansonia Wins Class M Title

CHAPTER WIN ALL FOUR STATE TITLES

THE NEW HAVEN COUNTY CHAPTER WON ALL FOUR STATE TITLES AT THE CIAC CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS PAST WEEKEND AT RENTSCHLER FIELD. THE HOLY CROSS CRUSADERS WON THE CLASS “S” TITLE ON FRIDAY WITH AN EXCITING 34-27 VICTORY OVER THE CROMWELL PANTHERS. IN THE TITLE GAMES ON SATURDAY THE ANSONIA CHARGERS BROUGHT HAVOC ON THE 11-1 LEDYARD COLONELS WITH A 38-0 VICTORY TO WIN THE CLASS M TITLE. THE CHARGERS FINISHED 14-0 ON THE SEASON. IN THE CLASS L GAME THE HAND TIGERS DEFEATED THEIR OLD NEMISSES THE NEW CANAAN RAMS 38-7. IN THE CLASS LL CHAMPIONSHIP THE DEFENDING TITLE HOLDERS XAVIER FALCONS RAN AWAY FROM THE STAPLES WRECKERS FOR A 42-7 VICTORY. IN 2005 THE CHAPTER WON FIVE TITLES WHEN THERE WAS SIX DIVISIONS. TITLES WERE WON BY XAVIER, HAND, WOODLAND, BRANFORD AND HYDE.
